HWF joins up with partners from the Upcycle Hawaii crew to remove plastic pollution from our shores and then turn them into useful treasures!
For eight years, HWF and volunteers kept track of the marine debris items that washed ashore with brand names and UHH graduate student, Mike Stone, investigated the patterns and what it told us about the most common debris items, types, and brands washing up along the Kaʻū coastline.
Run for wildlife from November 1st to December 26th and support Hawai‘i Wildlife Fund to protect native wildlife. For the second year, the Aloha Virtual Challenge is encouraging folks around the world to run, walk, skip, paddle, swim 60 or 120 miles "around the island of Oʻahu" (virtually) in the coming months.
